Saints Row IV – Better Than Ya Think (PAX Demo)

Holy HECK!!!!

As much as I would love you to guys to embrace what’s further down, I have to get this off my chest. I’ve never played Saints Row one, sort of liked the 2nd and next week will partake in the 3rd, which by the way received a 5/5 from IRB Gamer.

People are consistently downplaying Saints Row IV as changing the game in wrong direction. It’s not what the people remember and loved. I have to disagree for a minute. Not to throw other games in to the wolves and a few are successfully managing to keep the franchise afloat. But what about the annual Call of Duties and Assassin’s Creeds. These are 60 dollar rehashes that manage to make it through the cracks. But ask yourself this, how much longer will these repeats impress fans? I for one am glad that Volition is stepping out the box.

With that said, Saint’s Row IV plans to offer a treat to the loyal and a change to gamers overall. New setting, new weapons and enemies with the same crew. Heads will explode, civilians will dubstep, nuts will be kicked. OUCH!!!

“Saints Row IV lets players delve into an arsenal of alien weaponry and technology that will turn each Saint into an ultimate entity of destruction. Utilize out-of-this-world superpowers to fight all the way to the top. With intensified action and enhanced customization, players can use their newfound superpowers and leap over buildings, outrun the fastest sports cars, or send enemies flying with telekinesis in the greatest, most insane installment of Saints Row yet.”

In a sense, this game does looks pretty close to Crack Down, a title released a few years back by Ruffian Games.

The “Mech Suit Mayhem” added into Saint’s Row looks a bit uncomfortable to bare, however is not appearing to be a forced setting in the main story. The super hero abilities are okay and personally resembles bits and pieces of Prototype. The gliding and super jumping might come in handy in this new deminision.

Will it all be enough to challenge the Zin? Pre-order Saints Row IV as it releases August 20, 2013 for XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3. Check out the PAX demo video below.
