NBA 2K21 Mamba Forever Edition, Release Date, Price and Demo

The reveals are big for NBA 2K21 as it’s been announced that Damian Lillard will be the current gen cover athlete, Zion Williamson is the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X star, but the one we’ve all waited for is official. The legacy of Kobe Bryant will live on with the special “Mamba Forever Edition” We know Kobe has had an incredible career as a five-time NBA champion and 18-time NBA All-Star. Gone too soon, this is the most respectable edition that could be offered from the 2K Sports team. Also, the Mamba Forever Edition will be the forward compatible option for those transitioning from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X.

Details are soon to be announced in regards of what else this version will intel, but prices are officially out there. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google Stadia version will be available on September 4^th, 2020 for $59.99 (standard) and $99.99 (Mamba Forever). While there isn’t a date for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the price for next gen is confirmed as $69.99. And in case you’re wondering when we’ll see a Demo (Prelude), looking at the launch date, it can likely be expected around August 28, 2020 as it historically launches one week before the game.

NBA 2K21 currently has no mention of cross-play between platforms, however 2K has discussed it will feature MyTEAM Cross-Progression and a Shared VC Wallet within the same console family (PS4 to PS5, Xbox One to Xbox Series X). MyTEAM Cross-Progression enables all MyTEAM Points, Tokens, cards and progress to be shared on both current and next-generation versions of NBA 2K21 in the same console family; similarly, the Shared VC Wallet means any earned or purchased VC is accessible across both current and next-generation versions of NBA 2K21 in the same console family.
