XCOM: Chimera Squad Announced for Next Week

In a surprise announcement, 2K and Firaxis Games just revealed a new XCOM game that will make its way to keyboards April 23, 2020. XCOM: Chimera Squad. The new chapter in the series is to take place in City 31 where humans, aliens and hybrids live together in a fragile post-war peace. Problem is, not everyone is satisfied, causing the rise of conspiracy groups looking to upend it all. If you’ve ever seen the movie Bright starring Will Smith, you’ll sort of know what to expect.

Each mission in the turn-based RPG will be broken down into encounters. The beginning on encounters will start with Breach Mode, allowing you to decide point of entry and which of the Chimera Squad you’d prefer to utilize. Be careful as you may need to stabilize your teammate in order to complete an objective or the mission will fail. But that’s not the only way to potentially fail, as throughout the campaign, you’ll need to prioritize missions before the city goes into anarchy (city unrest), causing you to fail an entire campaign.
