WWE 2K22 – Finally, WRESTLING has come back to the WWE 2K Series

It is impossible to not be excited after the news that broke, along with a trailer regarding WWE 2K22! 2K and Visual Concepts witnessed all the cover art leaks, smiled, dropped a trailer that told the entire WWE Universe “Acknowledge Me!” We acknowledge you WWE 2K22. Without question moving the release date was the smartest move to focus on delivering a game that would redefine the very essence of wrestling.

What’s not to discuss this week regarding WWE 2K22? We can officially say Rey Mysterio is the cover athlete gracing the standard and deluxe edition of 2K22! Booyaka, Booyaka! The artwork is extremely aesthetic and eye candy for any WWE fan, whether you play video games or not. There’s also a nWo 4 Life edition that’s to release alongside the deluxe edition digitally, celebrating 25 years of simply being too sweet with Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Syxx, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash hijacking the cover. In addition, when you buy the nWo Digital Edition, expect to play as the head of WCW, Eric Bischoff. There more included and it’s all listed below, but we have more to cover.

Without spoiling the entire trailer, WWE 2K22 shared an entire new set of superstars, while showcasing more gameplay and modes including MyGM, tables, chairs and moves that would leave the Street Profits in awe with all the smoke going around! The core of the trailer presented by gaming content creator, TimtheTatMan, honors a plethora of superstars in-game, as well as throughout the trailer. Also like the Top 10 trailer in December, this trailer shares new facial features and animations that are extremely mind blowing.

To be honest, there were also moments that were a little underwhelming, like Bianca Belair’s character now showing a lot of expressing during the match. However, the taunt and in-ring animations were well worth it. Bobby Lashley definitely sold Kane’s chokeslam and the Undertaker’s made you believe someone was about to rest in peace. Then there’s the chair shot to the back that caused it to completely bend from its normal state. Once or twice in the trailer almost felt real and made the child inside scream. It reminded me that 2K promised that this game would give you a WWE Live-like experience. This year I am a firm believer that WWE 2K22 WILL HIT DIFFERENT!

What’s in 2K22?

Look forward to an all-new showcase featuring Mr. 619, Rey Mysterio as you relive his iconic moments and matches. MyRISE will allow you players to embark their own path to superstardom. WWE Universe and the Creation Suite all have an overhaul of new feature. The biggest, and most requested feature cross-platform sharing of community creations. No longer will PlayStation or Xbox players wish we had the ability to access unobtainable content.

Then there’s the Universe Mode that mentions controlling brands, live events, match results and more. While it doesn’t sound much different than what we’ve experienced before, the menu from the top 10 trailer shared a solo career. Until more details surface, only one can wonder.

MyGM makes it well-deserved return to the WWE 2K franchise, giving 99% of the Universe what they wanted. Thank You 2K! Thank You. What versions are there again?

WWE 2K22 features four editions of the game: Standard Edition, Cross-Gen Digital Bundle, Deluxe Edition, and – in celebration of the 25^th anniversary of the New World Order faction – nWo 4-Life Digital Edition:

• The Standard Edition will be available for $59.99 on previous-gen platforms (PlayStation® 4, Xbox One consoles and PC) and for $69.99 on current-gen consoles (PlayStation® 5 and Xbox Series X|S) in both physical and digital formats;

• The Cross-Gen Bundle will be available for $79.99 and includes the digital Standard Edition and the Starrcade ’96 Rey Mysterio Pack across previous and current-gen within the same PlayStation and Xbox consoles;*

• The Deluxe Edition will be available for $99.99 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S in both physical and digital formats, and on PC in digital format.
