You know what the biggest success of Need For Speed has always been? It’s the thrill and exhilaration of owning the open road. Watch the cops appear in your rear view and disappear in a moment’s notice simply because the dust from the thread of your vehicle has made their world uncontainable.
With that in mind, knowing that the XBOX One and PlayStation 4 will launch a new Need For Speed from Ghost Games (EA newest studio), the blood is beginning to boil. Need For Speed Rivals also plans to run on the new Frostbite™3 game engine.
In need For Speed Rivals, you have the choice of playing as either a cop or racer, each having its own set of challenges, awards and unlocks, similar to Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. Ghost Games mentioned as well that on November 19th, 2013, for the first time in seven years, gamers will again be able to embrace of the Ferrari. F12belinetta to be exact.
Spokesperson Stefano Saporetti, Head of Brand Operations in Ferrari added, “We are back in the Need For Speed franchise, starting with Need for Speed Rivals, as we want the fans of this world famous and award winning racing game saga to be able again to feel the excitement of the Ferrari Brand and cars.”
AllDrive is also being introduced, a new feature allowing gamers to play with friends, transitioning from solo to multiplayer in seconds, without optioning you to choose multiplayer. A similar feature was found in Test Drive Unlimited 2 where gamers were able to meet up in a lobby and go from there to the streets. So only time will truly tell if Ghost Games has created a better method.
Other features to look forward to are:
· Next-Gen Racing – Redview County is brought to life with stunning, next-generation detail and weather effects that force drivers to master the elements, as well as the competition.
· Need for Speed Network Powered by Autolog – Gamers can compare stats and challenge their friends anytime, anywhere and then easily share their accomplishments with both friends and rivals.
· Personalization – Drivers customize their ride with fresh paintjobs, custom license plates, liveries, decals, rims, and performance upgrades.
· Pursuit and Evasion Tech – Street racing explodes with 11 upgradeable gadgets including turbo boosts, jammers and EMPs for racers, and shockwaves, roadblocks and helicopters for cops.
Again rubber will burn the concrete November 19th on the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360, including XBOX One and PlayStation 4 at a later date.
