Where is the NBA 2K20 and NBA Live 20 News?

Female Players in NBA 2K20? Frostbite for NBA Live 20?

A question that will hopefully be answered sooner than later and basketball fans can all get a kick out of this unsolved mystery. Where in the world is the NBA 2K20 and NBA Live 20 news. 2K Sports has never been shy about sharing their latest creation around the NBA Finals and we’ve all seen the leaked Dwyane Wade Legend Edition standee by now. And as for NBA Live, there’s never big news shared during the E3 presentations. but press, enthusiast and EA Game Changers would at least get a sneak peek at EA Play. So, what’s really going on?

NBA 2K20 is Coming…

While NBA 2K is getting a ton of heat for the questionable gambling practices involved in the neighborhood as well as simply upgrading your player’s overall, moves and so forth, NBA 2K would still by now would have mentioned or shared something. If not gameplay, a teaser trailer would’ve surfaced. The biggest argument at the moment is the fact that 2K Sports has year over year taken ideas from what NBA Live has implemented, and to an extent, it’s true. And while it goes as far back as the actual Dev Team jumping ship to 2K, we’ll stay current.

You must question at this point can NBA Live catch a break. No one can doubt the creative minds at 2K Sports, with a solid career mode year over year and the innovative neighborhood that brings the community together better than any other sports game. Then there’s the insane mechanics and authenticity that’s improved upon each year. NBA Live continues to deliver a fun experience but it focuses more on an arcade simulation which separates the two games into leagues of their own. And if you ask anyone who wins, 9/10 times it’ll be 2K. But Why?

We’re well in the 4^th generation of the Sony PlayStation and have a 4K Xbox that can push content as much as possible. That in mind, graphics are everything, and content creators don’t hesitate to share a side by side comparison of Live and 2K. Screenshots honestly mean nothing anymore, gameplay is what matters. NBA Live 14 is the prime example to this as the trailer revealed amazing footage of Kyrie Irving going for a buzzer beater, only to see the final product resemble what could be found on a local arcade machine (wherever they may exist).

Don’t Count Live Out Yet

Five years and four games later NBA Live 19 has brought the franchise back to the frontline and very close to giving 2K a run for its money. And yes, 2K Sports is aware, ultimately showing signs of procrastination from both studios, playing a classic game of poker. Live took a big step in inviting the WNBA into the fold, something 2K have to be kicking themselves over these last few years. While Live 18 wasn’t the best introduction for the women of basketball, NBA Live 19’s “The One” brought the men and women together in classic streetball, one of the greatest features to date.

This formula works and is literally the biggest thing EA Sports have going for them ATM. The second win is working a similar angle as 2K with a career mode but not requiring additional methods of payment for Virtual Currency. The price of admission is in on the initial cover price. In fact, showing love to their fans, EA Sports has offered $20 off both Live 18 and 19 to those that chose to remain loyal or give the Development Team another shot at earning your trust.

With that, the poker game is quite serious this year. The Live Team may not want to show their hands so fast as anything can be growth to the 2K Team. Perfect example, the broken Photo Upload feature utilized every year by 2K with the console cams and app coincidentally changed to what’s used by Live which works.

What’s Features Can Be HUGE!!!

Though I doubt we’d see anything in 2K20, I’m willing to bet 2K takes a chance of allowing female character creations for the neighborhood. I’m not sure if the WNBA is an exclusive feature for EA Sports, but that’s the biggest move and potential nail in the coffin for NBA Live if this happens.

Creating custom courts is nice and all but the overall presentation has to be fluid throughout. That’s what NBA 2K is. Now if this become the year that NBA Live utilizes the Frostbite engine promised years ago and used for UFC EA Sports, FIFA and Madden, NBA Live could be closer than ever to reclaiming their throne that was once untouchable.
