HyperX Cloud II Headset Review – Listen Clearly
The “Hype” continues as Kingston has launched the new addition of the HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset, the HyperX Cloud II. We previously reviewed the beautiful white and black version of the HyperX Cloud’s and they were, and still are a high quality gaming headset still available on the market today.
With that in mind, how much more does the HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset stand out. Cosmetically the Cloud II’s are superb with a nice, aluminum touch (also available in red and black) and again with the HyperX stitching to call out the brand and the finesse it delivers. Packaged inside you’ll also find your detachable microphone, a pair of interchangeable ear cups and the beating heart of the Cloud II, the premium 7.1 virtual surround sound USB.
STRAIGHT TO 7.1
The biggest difference between the Cloud and Cloud II is the 7.1 surround sound capability. The true difference is specifically spotted when playing certain games or running an app that’s compatible. We took Call of Duty Advance Warfare and Dying Light for a spin.
Without the USB you’ll find yourself playing in stereo audio, but when inserting the usb, Kingston shows you their push to the next level of gaming. The 7.1 sound expands the overall feedback to allow you to pinpoint enemies and zombies as they approach. Call of Duty allowed better clarity as to where bullets were flying from.
In comparison to the first HyperX Cloud the versatility is the same. You looking at the best of the best with Kingston as this headset not only work for PC, allowing 7.1 surround sound, but they’re also compatible to your cell phone, idevice, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
Just as the original Cloud, the best quality came from listening to audio directly from PC and mobile. Here at IRBGamer we have a more in-depth review on the first HyperX Cloud that full intel what to expect when playing with the PlayStation 4 and tablet, in addition to PC gaming.
So to answer the question, are the HyperX Cloud II’s worth it? Yes! Heck yes. Get over to Amazon or GameStop now and buy your all in one headset today.
