Batman: The Telltale Series – Children of Arkham Review
Telltale Games latest title Batman: The Telltale Series is truly living up to expectations from Batman fans plus gamers alike. With the story being more involved with life of Batman and Bruce Wayne for the first time, even after delving into episode one it’s hard to expect what’s next for the owner of Wayne Manor. But the story continues in episode two “Children of Arkham.”
After running into an old friend, meeting Selena, helping Harvey and others Bruce certainly has his hands as millionaire by day and vigilante crime fighter by night. The biggest twist in the story thus far was the photo found inside of Falcone’s night club. Exactly how close were the Wayne’s with the crime boss?
Episode two begins at the site of the shooting of Thomas and Martha with a surprising twist to the murder questioning if it could have been an assassination. With the help of Alfred, Bruce manages to remember things from that evening he closed out in his mind, opening so many questions.
The story also opens back up to Falcone who is being hospitalized in a closed off area inside the GCPD. Your choices will determine his responses in regards to what you’ve discovered about your family. In addition you learn so much more about Oswald Cobblepot supposedly being a fan of the Dark Knight while looking to kill Catwoman for failing him and Bruce Wayne for the family tarnishing the Cobblepot family’s legacy.
In a sense you can understand why Cobblepot feels betrayed by the city of Gotham, but his methods are uncanny. The birth of Penguin rises with a substances that forces people to speak truthfully and do what they feel, no matter if it’s the Mayor or police officers no longer feeling pressured to do what “they think” is right.
Harvey Dent and Bruce Wayne also bump heads due to the fact of the Wayne’s ties Falcone being legit, a closed secret kept by Alfred. There’s not as much action as episode one which isn’t a bad thing in this case as it well balances the story.
