What? Pokémon Is Evolving!
Pokémon has been a gaming phenomenon for as long as gamers can remember, keeping strong to this very day with no signs of slowing down. Rather, we might have the most Pokémon over the next year than we’ve have ever had. Following a press conference from The Pokémon Company, 3 new titles, cloud hub and gaming peripheral were announced that will be rolling out throughout 2020, beginning with the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield later with year.
First among the bundle is Pokémon HOME, a cloud hub that stores and shares Pokémon across various titles spanning from the pre-existing Pokémon Bank, Pokémon Lets Go! Pokémon GO and Pokémon Sword and Shield. Bring your best buds/troops with you no matter where you go adventuring while all being controlled via a cloud app. Further details are yet to come but players should expect its arrival in early 2020 on IOS, Android and Switch.
In a crazy turn of events and consultation from many snoozing Snorlaxes, Pokémon Sleep comes to innovate by turning sleep into entertainment. Though details are scarce and to be taken in-depth at a later time, the title will come alongside a new peripheral, the Pokémon Go Plus+ that uses an accelerometer to record the players sleep and affect gameplay accordingly. Nap time and deep snoozes will help your quest to become a Pokémon master starting in 2020.
Last of the mobile applications is focused on traditional Pokémon action with Pokémon Masters. Taking the series numerous iconic trainers over the numerous games and pitting them in combat for absolute dream matches. The game is designed from the most casual to the most hardcore player in mind, as with the rest of the titles, more details are to come in June.
Finally, the last of the titles announced was a sequel to Detective Pikachu on 3DS. The original title ended on a cliffhanger that’s to be concluded in the sequel coming to Nintendo Switch. Those enamored with the saavy detective following the game and film will have more to look forward to.
It’s a good time to a fan of the iconic series, though little is known for now, fans can look forward for more details to come for everything as the year progresses and for it all to kick off with the new Pokémon entry later this year.
