WWE fans can’t help but feel the excitement knowing that WWE took the fight from the ring to the barricade; and now through the crowd as with both Brock Lesnar and Finn Balor’s entrance videos showing tables, trash cans and plenty of space.
The biggest question of all is how close the game will compare to real life WWE. So many changes from the brand split, commentary teams, new divisions and titles; such much to beg the question what will WWE 2K17 bring what will warrant the purchase this year? I’ll tell you!
This is WWE! The universe will surely get an amazing experience from MyCareer, Universe and online. With 2K16 adding the ability to add your face in the game it personalized the way you play answering the question, could you become champion; To quote the general manager of SmackDown Live “YES!”
The OMG’s sort of slowed down the intensity in WWE 2K16. Not being able to tear away the announce table early or needing an OMG to do perform the special springboard dive truly offset the normal chemistry in matches. Hopefully this year Yuke’s will pull a rabbit out the hat and grant us more OMG moments. From the newest trailer reported by IGN, it looks like there will definitely be a few implemented in ladder matches for the first time, possibly taking the place of finishers.
I’ve mentioned this a few years back, the needed return of Falls Count Anywhere matches that truly takes you everywhere. SmackDown on PlayStation would take us all around the arena until the limited SmackDown v Raw shortened us to simply a soda machine, hallway and parking lot. Prayers have been answered as you not only fight in the halls, you can seamlessly move through various parts of the arena as seen in the video below; even coming face to face with The Game “Triple H.” I only wonder now if WWE 2K17 will allow the action transition from ringside to the backstage.
Please give us custom theme music and entrances again! WWE has been big on authenticity as of late but how far can they allow gamers to design their personal career beyond their name and attire. And with this in mind I hoped to see a more in-depth career mode with more mid-game cutscenes. WISHED GRANTED. MyCareer and 2K17 are indeed receiving an update that can sell the game all on its own with the ability to save highlights and make your own titantron videos and custom victory poses!
WWE 2K17 sets to release October 11th on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It’s a New Day Folks! Yes it is!
