The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was recently announced by Activision and Marvel Entertainment at this past weekends New York Comic Con. Set to release sometime next spring, along side the release of the featured film, it will be available for both current consoles and next generation consoles as well as your WiiU, 3DS and PC’s.
This new title, like the original The Amazing Spider-Man, was also developed by Beenox. Players will, like usual, take on the role of Spiderman in a story inspired but the upcoming film also set to release sometime next spring. Players will come accross some enemies with familiar faces as well as some new ones. You will be able to freely roam New York City as well as get an all new experience via the new addition of the “Hero or Menace” system. This all new system incentivizes Super hero behavior by rewarding your crime fighting efforts but also by adding consequences for letting crime grow.
Thomas Wilson the Co-Studio of Beenox had this to say about their upcoming release.
“The first The Amazing Spider-Man game gave players their own beautifully animated, free-roaming city of Manhattan to traverse and explore – a playground of majestic scale in which to live out our common hero fantasies. And the overwhelming message from fans was: ‘MORE!’ That’s what our team is working toward with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – we’re giving gamers more abilities, more upgrades, more challenges, and more freedom to progress. And with the game launching alongside the new movie, offering an expanded interactive experience beyond the film, fans of the franchise won’t want to miss playing it.”
