Nintendo Skillfully Plans For This Holiday Season

wii-u

Through most of my yesteryears I grew up playing Sonic and Streets of Rage. In other words I delved into the realm known as Sega, missing the Kirby’s and the Goldeneye era. I never played the original Super Smash Bros, only heard about it. I even bought the 3DS to never even so much play a game on it.

That is all officially changed after taking a deep dive into Nintendo land. Other writers here tried to persuade me but I wouldn’t budge. But now even I stand here before you urging you this holiday season to make one of the best buying decisions of 2013; purchasing a Nintendo 3DS and/or WII U.

wii zeldaAs for the Nintendo 3DS one title will genuinely speak for itself; Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. The legend himself can not only attack the enemies within world, he can camouflage himself by becoming a 2D figment.

Keep in mind that you can also play all of those must have 3DS titles on the Nintendo 2DS as well, selling for the low price of $129.99. It’s literally a 3DS compatible system that enable you the opportunity to play the current lineup without going 3D. In comparison the 2DS feels retro. Imagine the early 90’s when double A batteries were always required. The big blocky look was sometimes annoying, but the job it needed to do was done. The 2DS have that look, but surprisingly has a more comfortable feel.

The Wii U has one game that even have your pets drooling come November, Super Mario 3D World. Mario and friends, including Princess Peach as a playable character will be collecting coins, mushrooms and new costumes. Crawl and climb your way up walls with up to four players, not only with the intent of game completion, but to also to wear a special crown recognizing them as the superior, top scoring player on each level.

Last but not least was Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze. It was in my opinion the highlight and most intriguing title scheduled to release for 2014. If you’re weary on if it’s worth it, place it right up there with Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2. Donkey, Diddy, Dixie and the crew are back. It was an amazing, yet challenging platformer as Donkey Kong again claims his dominance in the jungle, on land and underwater.  Beautiful graphics, new mechanics and more to expect along the way. Puzzles and letters are scattered around as well, creating a high replay value for those who must find everything.
