In another step towards platform integration, Ubisoft has announced the release of a Smart phone Companion App for Far Cry 3. Far Cry Outpost is available for both iOS and Android devices and will allow players to take their Far Cry 3 experience on the road with them – although we at IRBGamer do not condone use of this app while actually on the road!
Focusing on the Multi-Player and Co-op portions of the game, this App will allow players to take care of all sorts of Far Cry 3 goodness when away from their PC or Console. Remember that Encrypted Data you found late last night and forgot to Decode? No worries! Decode it while you’re at work with this app, then accept, trade or sell the newly discovered upgrade! Have a brilliant create-a-class idea on your lunch break? Not a problem, with this App, you are able to make your changes and they’ll be ready for when you log in.
In addition to Loadout editing, you can also easily keep track of the current daily and weekly challenges (perhaps even edit a Loadout on the go to make completing them easier!), as well as delve deep into both your own stats and those of your friends. Now proof of beating your friends high score and bragging about it is only a text message away. Fairly handy wouldn’t you say? For those gamers for whom playing isn’t just quite enough, Far Cry Outpost also allows you to monitor in-depth information about your created maps, such as tier placement and current count of likes and favorites for your hard work.
It’s great to see more games embracing this on-the-go type of app and personally, I hope to see more of them in the future. I’m curious to see what the future of Far Cry 3 will bring to Far Cry Outpost. Excited? Need it now? Want more information? Then just check the links below!
