Face-Plant Adventures is a weird little game by oddworm games. If you look over the environments and the strange big-mouthed plant protagonist, you may begin to think this is Mario on some bad mushrooms. The music sound track and sound effects really add that extra creepy factor the artist probably intended all along. The game consists of 11 different levels, awards, leaderboards, and various gameplay changing moves, all for one dollar. Face-Plant Adventures is not a bad investment at all.
You can play the game’s adventure mode on normal, hard, and serious difficulties. Each upped difficulty does increase the challenge and makes it more fun to play with less checkpoints and more hazards. You are also timed on how long you take to complete the level. You can collect clocks along the way to reduce time on the counter. Special golden leaves can also be found hidden among the levels, if you are a treasure-hunter type of player, as well as plenty of puzzles for puzzle enthusiasts. Get a mega-speed run, collect all the hidden leaves, and brag to your friends by showing them your leaderboard scores!
For just $1, you would probably not think so heavily on the richness of content. These days, $1 barely buys you a soda out of a vending machine, much less gives you a solid and challenging game. Face-Plant Adventures is a sleeper hit indie title for sure. If you loved the platformers of old, or if you love a good challenging title, Face-Plant Adventures is for you. It may take 1-2 hours for the average gamer to beat but you are guaranteed plenty of more time out of it if you are a perfectionist and challenge seeker. For the price tag, you certainly get more than what you paid for and we cannot recommend you checking it out enough.
