Nintendo is proving to the gaming world yet again why it is one of the strongest competitors in the market with the reveal of the Nintendo Switch. WHAT’S IN THE BOX

So what’s all to come with the Nintendo Switch? The box at launch will include the Switch, Dock, 2 Joy Con Controllers, controller straps and the Joy Con Grip. Joy Con will also have a Pro controller available sold separately for those looking for the more traditional feel. The Nintendo Switch will be packaged for optional grips controllers available in red/neon blue or both gray.

The Grip controllers are an absolute game changer with separate analogs, readable NFC’s , a square button which allow you to take screenshots and later in development record videogame sessions, HD Rumble feature and individual bumpers for each grip. Depending on gameplay the grips we’re reported to hold anywhere from 2.5-6.5 hours of battery life. A lot to take in but believe us, this is only the beginning!

HOW TO SWITCH THE SWITCH

As Nintendo strives to provide “more fun” and “more smiles around the world,” the Switch will have three revolutionary ways to keep you playing seamlessly.

• T.V. Mode will be the traditional style of playing your Nintendo Switch, connecting an HDMI from the dock to your television.
• Tabletop Mode allows you to remove the Switch from the dock and open the kickstand behind the screen to level the device and game on by either connecting the controllers to the Joy Con Grip or opening your range of motion, separating the controllers and playing on.
• Handheld Mode opens your range of motion, allowing you to play off the dock and without the Joy Con Grip. It also enables local co-op between the two Grips for titles like 1,2 Switch and Mario Kart.

Gameplay never have to end as you can charge your Switch while you play utilizing the USB Type-C port (included) or portable batteries mentioned during the Nintendo Switch Presentation.

WHAT GAMES ARE “REALLY” COMING TO THE NINTENDO SWITCH

As for the games to come for the Nintendo Switch, regardless of the country it’s purchased in, Nintendo has decided to disable Region Locking games on this new platform.  This is a huge win for those looking to get their hands on those early Japan releases that we in North America had to wait for; no more.

A few titles were presented as launch titles: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and 1,2 Switch. Other games mentioned to have a 2017 window was Arms, Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey. Personally Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild were the two games that shown the most promise and uniqueness to the Nintendo Switch.

Other games to look forward to: Xenoblade 2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Dragon Quest 10 & 11, Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2, Shin Megami Tensei, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, FIFA 17, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, Minecraft, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Just Dance 2017, Rayman and NBA 2K18. Plenty of other games were mentioned as well during the special sizzle reel.

WHAT TO EXPECT ONLINE

Multiplayer on the Nintendo Switch is refined between connecting to WiFi for online gaming and local up to 8 players. With the Switch you’re able to invite friends to game sessions or set appointments to play from the console or with your smart device, hinting a supporting mobile app to launch alongside the Switch.

How much will the online service cost for the Nintendo Switch? Free, sort of. At launch Nintendo has no plan to charge for an online subscription, however it will be implemented later Fall 2017, giving everyone an opportunity to share the joy of Switching over.
