Long ago, Rare (back then known as Rareware) was responsible for producing many of Nintendo’s greatest hits like Donkey Kong Country, Banjo Kazooie, the hilariously raunchy Conker’s Bad Fur Day, and of course their instant hit fighter, Killer Instinct. Since 1996 many gamers including myself have been anxiously waiting to hear something about the third installment of the famed fighter, but at Microsoft’s E3 conference and after nearly two decades the prodigal son returns!
Just seeing iconic fighter like Jago and Saber Wolf duke it out in HD brought a manly tear to my eye as it was everything I could’ve imagined. What I noticed is that the new Killer Instinct has a slight Street Fighter 4 feel as far art direction goes and that gives IK great stylized visuals. And it just wouldn’t be Killer Instinct if they didn’t continue the proud tradition of performing Ultra Combos and Combo Breakers!
The only thing that I could expect from Killer Instinct that hasn’t stepped out the 1990 until now is the inclusion of online multiplayer which I’m pretty sure that is in the game. Other that I am extremely excited for the return of Killer Instinct!
