It has been announced by Square Enix that the popular title Deus Ex will get a new installment, Deus EX: The Fall, for your mobile and tablet devices.
Deus Ex: The Fall takes place in the year 2027. This is considered the “golden era for science, technology and human augmentation”. Just like with anything else, it comes with both the good and the bad. The bad in the scenario being “social divide and conspiracy”. This is a time when corporations have taken over and the government has lost control. You play as Ben Saxon who has gone under an augmentation himself and desperately wants to discover the truth behind the drug conspiracy.
Developed by the European division of Square Enix and collaborated with Eidos-Montreal and N-Fusion, the original team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolutions, Deus Ex: The Fall is the first in the series to be for mobile and tablet devices. The game is an action-RPG and will include new characters never before seen in the gaming series but fans may recognize from the novel.
The Executive Game Director of Eidos-Montreal, Jean-Francois Dugas had this to say about the new title in the series;
“We’re really excited to continue the DEUS EX series on mobile and start a new journey. The team has done an incredible job creating a whole new story and controls for intuitive touch screen gameplay, whilst staying true to the DEUS EX universe. Players can expect exploration, action, hacking, stealth, social enhancers, player choice and consequence- the full DEUS EX experience.”
And the General Manager of Square Enix Mobile, Anthony Douglas had this to say;
“Smart devices are central to Square Enix’s platform strategy and we approach it with the same attention as our boxed and digital releases. DEUS EX: THE FALL is going to be testament to our commitment in delivering high quality entertainment on mobile and tablet devices.”
Dues Ex: The Fall will be available this summer for $6.99. You can find out more via the Square Enix booth at E3 2013 in the South Hall #1647 or like their facebook page.
