Just over a month after the release of Dead Space 3 gamers get their first DLC, The Awakened. But is it too soon? And just like when Dead Space 3 released fans also seem to be taking the DLC with mixed feelings.
The Awakened DLC continues the story of Dead Space 3 right from where you left off. You are still playing as Isaac or John, depending on whether you are playing solo or co-op, in an attempt to get off the planet alive. This DLC brings more crazy encounters then previously witnessed in the full release. And you WILL find yourself genuinely creeped out.
As previously mention, the Awakened DLC continues off right were we left off and continues to bring everything we previously experienced. Nothing is left out in the DLC from the breath taking graphics to the simple thrill of playing this scary game. However, many fans were left with an unsatisfied feeling at the end of Dead Space 3. But then after playing the Awakening DLC felt that this was the ending that would have made the overall game better. The questions began to swirl, where was this DLC when Dead Space 3 launched?
Here’s the thing, gamers HATE paying $60.00 for a game then having to pay more money for DLC, especially so soon after release. Then when you give them the ending they felt they should have received in the first place? This is kind of the final blow, the kick in the nuts while you are down so to speak. I, However, do not agree with this as I am sure other people don’t as well. For me DLC revives my old titles, games that are simply collecting dust on my shelf anyways. It allows me to get excited about the game again and ultimately extends their shelf life. Chances are you are NOT just going to play the DLC, you will likely go back and re-do other missions in an attempt to get that 100% completion.
At only 800 MSP you can’t really go wrong. Especially if you already love Dead Space 3. You will be getting hours of extra gameplay, both on your own or if you want to play with a friend, and you may even get that ending you were so looking forward to with the full release of the game. Either way this DLC is a must for all Dead Space 3 fans a like.
So Should The Awakened DLC been included with the full release of Dead Space 3? Let us know what you think about this DLC below.
