One of my favorite series is making a return and we call start being drawn to death again like a moth to a flame early next year!
What we can assume is that in some form of continuity, Dark Souls III will take place in the same universe as the previous Dark Souls title, but perhaps take place in the far future. The series started with the beginning, Lord Gwyn began the Age of Fire and brought about prosperity, but soon the Curse of the Undead spread across all that the light touched. From that point on, it had been debated and discussed time and again whether or not that Dark Souls even has a “Good Ending” to begin with, and so brought about even deeper interpretations of the lore.
From Lordran to Drangleic, the settings were vastly different, set in different times, separated by centuries of conflict and war. What they had in common however was the Curse, the mark that the Undead bear, and perhaps even the journey that these choosen undead undergo in both games. Will these connections finally be explained in Dark Souls III? Or are you even playing as an inflicted Undead?? We do not know any of the answers to these questions, just that only embers remain.
But what isn’t so ambiguous and shrouded in mystery is that Hidetaka Miyazaki is back as Dark Souls III’s director! His being involved with the game is a surefire guarantee that this will be an adventure of a lifetime… or countless deaths.
