In a press release today, Dark Horse Comics and HappyGiant announced that they are bringing the award-winning comic, Usagi Yojimbo, to life on mobile, tablet and PC platforms. In conjunction with the announcement of the game, Dark House Comics also announced the first new Usagi Yojimbo collection after a year hiatus.
The game, Usagi Yojimbo: Way of the Ronin, is currently available on iOS devices and will be coming to Android and Desktop PC soon. Coupled with the game release, the new Usagi Yojimbo comic collection, Usagi Yojimbo: A Town Called Hell, will be released on July 17, 2013.
This epic franchise focuses on the character and world created by Stan Sakai, and follows the tale of a Master-less Samurai (or Ronin) in Feudal Japan. This is the first video game created in over 25 years featuring the renowned franchise and will bring the famous series to a whole new generation of fans.
The franchises creator, Stan Sakai, is incredibly excited to bring his characters to life, having this to say;
“It’s been far too long since the last Usagi game, and I am so excited to be working with HappyGiant to bring Usagi and his friends back to these new platforms, The game turned out great!”

A non-stop side-scrolling adventure game showcasing the franchises well-known art style boasts over 60 different enemies, 13 bosses, and even a few of Usagi’s friends join in the battle as companions.
