No, this is not a joke. Capcom is willing to give out £50,000 or $70,353 USD to the person who can PROVE that a real world monster exists. Capcome is going about this by enlisting a pro Cryptozoologist and global monster hunter, Jon Downes, to analyze all evidence submitted.
Jon Downes said:
There are stories of monsters from around the world, and while some may be flights of fancy, not every one of these monsters can be made up. It is one of life’s great mysteries and similar to Monster Hunter: World, I’ve spent the majority of my life traveling across the globe to hunt for evidence of these creatures. Although I have had some successes, I have yet to find that elusive proof and it is time for me to offer my help as I throw down the gauntlet to the next generation.
The official list is fairly small, but it is indeed the 10 most common monsters you think about when dealing with modern “mythological creatures”. Those that submit clear new evidence of any monsters that have been verified by Jon and his team from the list below, will win the full bounty and prove that they are the world’s best, real-life Monster Hunter!
- Loch Ness Monster
- Mongolian Death Worm
- Earth Hound
- Flying Snake Of Namibia
- Cornish Owlman
The bounty will open for entries on 30th January, 2018 and close on 30th June, 2018. For more information or to submit evidence of a monster and be in with the chance of winning the £50,000 reward, please contact email@example.com . All entries will be analyzed and judged by Monster Hunter, Jonathan Downes, with the top ten entries being revealed to the public in late July. If multiple hunters submit clear and comprehensive evidence the reward will be split between them.
